If you're looking for a fun way to beat the heat, you can head to the beach at Hawk Island park in south Lansing.
But next summer the park is going to be even more fun, especially for the kids.
Willis Bennett, the manager of Hawk Island, said the new splash water park will be controlled by computers; kids can start and stop the water by pushing buttons.
"Water will spray up from all sorts of places, they'll never know where it's coming from," Bennett said.
The project will cost about $300,000 dollars. $75,000 is coming from the Ingham County board of commissions, and $225,000 is coming from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
The new water park will be about 10,000 square feet.
