Federal prosecutors filed an indictment Thursday morning, charging the 12-year veteran of the postal service with theft of mail.
They believe he abused his role as a mail handler to rifle through greeting cards, and take money that from inside.
U.S. Postal Inspector Fred Van De Putte, says they can't estimate how much money they believe he stole because they aren't sure if they have all the reports.
News 10 did attempt to reach Nieto. His phone number has been disconnected.
