Katrina Could Increase Prices at the Pump

Katrina's fury could be felt across the country in the form of higher gas prices.

Crude oil spiked to almost $71.00 a barrel Monday morning following the shut down of refineries and the slowed offshore production near the Gulf Coast.

MSU Professor of Economics Ken Boyer says most of mid-Michigan's gasoline comes from Chicago and Texas so our supply shouldn't be affected here, but expect to pay more at the pump.
