A local doctor is charged with fraud after a investigation by the DEA.
Doctor Patrick Wegman of Owosso could get four years in prison if convicted of the charges.
Prosecutors say he committed fraud to obtain hydrocodone, which is another name for vicodin.
They say it was for personal use.

I've seen you wrote more & more comments each day Kim . So when you say get a life why don't you get a life.

Posted by: Cat on Mar 22, 2008 at 08:59 AM
Precisely Kim, you have never been to him in your life. You just have the urge to try to manipulate a bad situation so that you can have some fun. Obviously since you keep coming back to the site, you just want to have some fun. I really advise you to leave Dr. Wegman alone because you are the only one who is making his name dirty. Everyone else knows he is a fine doctor who cares deeply about his patients.

To everyone who posted other than Kim: It's so obvious you are the same pathetic person posting over and over and over. Get some other friends to post, and get a life other than defending criminals. And as far as Dr. Wegman's innocence..."Methinks thou dost protest too much." And as far as when was my appointment with Dr. Wegman...wouldn't you love to know. And btw...freedom of speech rules!!!

kim why don't you think Dr. Wegman man and doctor?

Posted by: Jane Location: Owosso on Mar 21, 2008 at 05:51 PM
To Kim, You are such a liar. You know this never happened. His nurses give the shots not Dr Wegman. If you know Dr. Wegman, he would never say such a thing. By the way, when was your appointment?

Posted by: k on Mar 21, 2008 at 05:22 PM
wilx i think you should take kim's comment's down

Posted by: t on Mar 21, 2008 at 05:16 PM
kim is the only one who said something bad about Dr.Wegman.

Posted by: mo on Mar 21, 2008 at 05:11 PM
kim , just stay out of his buisness. He's a good doctor and a good man.

Posted by: M.M on Mar 21, 2008 at 05:06 PM
Kim, have you ever been seen by Dr. Wegman? Most likely not. You're just some woman trying to get attention from a poor choice made from some man. He might have made some bad choices outside of his practice but I bet he never showed up under any influence whatsoever to work. He never hurt any of his patients by his decision. If he was showing up high to work I would certainly agree with you, but that is not the case. Do you know how common this is among doctors? You might be seeing several doctors currently that have the same or a much worse problem but you'd never know it because it hasn't been exposed. This, by the way, does not make him a horrible person. So unless you've never done anything wrong in your life, which I'm sure you've made plenty of mistakes, don't cast the first stone.

Why would you say something so bad. Everybody knows that he is a good person and doctor. And i think you should take your comment off and never put one on again becouse you are so mean!!!!!! This is to Kim

Posted by: Kim on Mar 21, 2008 at 02:18 PM
"Just because he has a problem does not mean in any way, shape or form, that it affects his practice." Of course it does! I don't trust a doctor with a drug problem to be able to effectively treat patients! Would you want a childcare provider high on oxycontin taking care of your children? I wouldn't! Same goes for doctors. Doctors make enough medical mistakes as it is, without being high. How agitated would you be if a doctor made a medical mistake on you or a loved one while under the influence of drugs? To me, any doctor addicted to drugs is breaking trust with his patients.

This is going out to Kim. Your comment has left me very, very agitated. You have no right to sit here and make light of this situation. Just because he has a problem does not mean in any way, shape or form, that it affects his practice. His patients mean the world to him and how dare you slander him.

Posted by: Kim on Mar 20, 2008 at 06:24 PM
Dr.Wegman is a horrible person and a sorry excuse for a doctor. One time that he treated me, he was so high on vicodin that he fell down and impaled himself on the shot that he was supposed to give me! When I asked him what the problem was, he said "Uh, I'm stoned out of my mind on Vicodin..." Then he started giggling uncontrolably so I left. Let's hope they catch this criminal!!!

Dr. Wegman is a fine physician. One day He saw me and my Father in Law at a store. My father in law was about to fall and was very sick. The wonderful Doc, recommended some test, and I believe my father in Law is alive today because of This fine doctor's Caring Heart! Please leave him alone! Who could in Compassions name, get into his business?

I just went to Dr. Wegman and he is a fine physician and remarkable person. He just lost his wife to a long battle of cancer. Let's give him a break!!!!

If this gentleman truly does have a dependance or addiction problem, Michigan has a Health Professional Recovery Program which is excellent. It could help to get him through this difficult time physically, mentally, and spiritually - I hope he is put in contact with them.

I have been a patient for 20 some years with Dr Wegman. He is a wonderful Physican. He is a down to earth man. He cared for every patient he has. My heart and prayers go to Dr. Wegman and his family.

He is a wonderful man and Physician. The courts will sort through it all. Let's say our prayers for him and his family.

The last comment is very true. He is going through a very hard time. I feel very soory for him and his son.

I agree with Mae. Dr. Wegman is an exceptional person and doctor, and a wonderful asset to the community. He has my prayers and support.

Posted by: Mae Location: Ovid on Mar 19, 2008 at 07:17 AM
I hope this is not true. He just recently lost his wife to cancer so I am sure he has been under a lot of stress. He has been a wonderful doctor and a great asset to the community. Do not be quick to judge unless you have walked in the shoes.
