UPDATE: Missing Albion Infant Back at Home

Updated: Sat 6:55 PM, Jul 28, 2012

After a long night of driving, Nicole Johnson of Albion was reunited with her baby early Saturday morning.

Police say her estranged husband Luqman Bari kidnapped the six-week old, Nahla Johnson. He stole the girl, his wife's car and drove to Illinois where he was caught by police. The car the baby was trapped in did not have air conditioning.

Nicole Johnson, the baby's mother, drove with her mom, sister and brother-in-law for six hours to retrieve the baby from Effingham, Illinois. Johnson says it was a long night. When she arrived, she didn't ask why her husband kidnapped her baby.

"I was just happy to have my baby back. That's all I cared about," said Johnson. The family made it back to their home in Albion around 10 a.m. Saturday.

Police are going to extradite Bari back to Michigan.
