Monday afternoon, the Michigan State Police issued an Amber Alert for five-year-old, Lauren Padughowski. Not long after the search began, it became a drowning investigation.
State police suspect no foul play.
Investigators at this time are treating this as an accident at Michigan Center Lake but await autopsy results as early as Tuesday.
Authorities say the child was supervised by her 13-year-old brother.
Police say she somehow walked away and out of his supervision.
Eyewitnesses say the parents were not at the scene.
