The Day of the Bargain Shopper

Some shoppers say they are not satisfied with Holiday gifts, as they continue to pack the malls, trying to take advantage of sales.

Shop until you drop seemed to be the motto of the day. Many shoppers say the chance to return gifts brought them out to the stores, but the sales are what made them spend their money.

Officials from the Michigan Retailers Association say stores sell up to 20 percent of their volume the week after Christmas. They say the events of 9-11 last year hurt sales.

This year the dock workers strike on the West Coast slowed things down, but officials expect sales to exceed last year's number by about four percent.
