Christmas in the Catholic Church

A joyous mood circulated the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church building in South Lansing. Many people say their faith is stronger than ever despite the scandalous year that has plagued the Catholic Church.

According to Father Jose Mundadan, nearly 2,000 people attended the two 4:30 p.m. Christmas Eve masses at the church building. He says more people came to church this year compared to last year, and he says that's a sign that more people are supporting the church rather than turning away from it.

While some say they have lost their trust in the Catholic Church as a result of the nationwide sex abuse scandal, others say they've begun to pray more and become more faithful.
