Parking meters are being stolen from downtown Kalamazoo.
Someone has taken 57 meters since June 10. The Kalamazoo Department of Public safety says the same person or group of people appears to be responsible.
A team of detectives is investigating. The city has about a thousand parking meters. None can hold more than about ten dollars in change.
It's expected to cost the city thousands of dollars to repair or replace the stolen meters. Several have turned up alongside roads and in local parks.
