Authorities have raided 17 Chinese buffet-style restaurants in 12 counties for alleged tax fraud and immigration violations.

State police say another 21 warrants were served at homes where officials suspect undocumented workers from China were living.

Police say employees were working off the cost of being brought to the US. Investigators also suspect restaurant owners were only claiming about one-third of their income.

Two people were charged with driver's license violations and 13 others were handed over to immigration. About $400,000 in cash was seized.

Police say the restaurants are likely owned by the same family, or the owners are related.
