Malls Were Packed

Hundreds of shoppers lined up outside the Lansing Mall as early as 3:00 a.m. Friday to get first dibs on the toys at KB Toy Store.

The toy store opened at 5:00 a.m., and workers there said business was non-stop. The hot item was the Fur Real Friend - a stuffed animal which purrs and moves like a real cat. Workers say they sold out of that cat within fifteen minutes.

The parking lots were packed the entire day, and Santa made trips to several area malls.

Instead of having kids sit on his lap at the outdoor Eastwood Towne Center, Santa walked around that mall. Mall directors said business there has doubled during the last two weeks.
