General Motors Chairman and CEO Rick Wagoner announced Tuesday 25,000 hourly jobs will be cut and an undetermined number of plants will be closed in the next three years.

Reality is hitting hard across the country, can Lansing avoid the punches?

Art Luna, President of UAW Local 602, says he's confident his members will not be affected nor will the opening and staffing of the new Delta Township plant.

Brain Fredline, President of UAW Local 1618, says any facility today should be nervous. Fredline heads up the union which staffs the Craft Centre. Craft Centre employees produce the struggling SSR.

A spokesperson for GM says the 25,000 positions in question will come from both retirement and outright cuts. There’s no word on what percent will fall under each category.
