JACKSON - A suspect in Monday's nights murder in Jackson is captured in Calhoun County. Calhoun County Sheriff's Office reports they located the man in a car they pulled over on the highway this morning. The suspect was arrested on an outstanding warrant and turned over to Jackson Police. Earlier in the morning investigators learned that the murder suspect may have been in the Albion or Battle Creek areas. Deputies located the suspect's vehicle in Albion shortly after 9 o'clock. The man was not with the car. The suspect was a passenger in a car that was stopped for a traffic violation on I-94 near 18 1/2 mile Road at about 11 o'clock.
The suspect's name has not been released pending his arraignment in Jackson.
He is accused of shooting to death 22-year-old Ricky Darnell Upshaw outside a home in the 1000 block of Adrian Street in Jackson shortly after 10 o'clock Monday night.
