A Consumer's Energy linesman was struck and killed by a car on a Hillsdale County road Friday.

56-year-old Jeffery Henry Creel, of Reading, was inspecting a downed power line on Homer Road near Blackmere Road when the accident happened.

Creel was taken to Hillsdale Community Health Center, then life-flighted to a Toledo hospital for emergency surgery, but he didn't survive.

A Jonesville resident was driving the car that struck Creel.
