LANSING - A woman is assaulted and robbed at gunpoint overnight in Lansing. Police were called to the 600 block of East Kalamazoo Street at about 2:30am Tuesday. There a woman told officers she had been walking home, when people shouted obscenities at her from their car. The woman said she replied, and the car stopped. Three people got out of a car. One pulled out a handgun and told her to give up her purse. The woman refused. Two of the other car occupants struck the woman and took the purse from the woman.
The victim gave police a description of the robbers and their car. Soon patrol officers located a car matching the description. Police made a traffic stop and arrested the three inside without incident. Police say they did recover the woman's purse from the car. The suspects are a 17-year old man, an 18-year-old woman and a 19-year-old woman. All are from Lansing.
The victim, a 47-year-old Lansing woman, was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
