The House GOP leadership is considering a plan to impose the state sales tax on attorney services with the additional revenue to help fund an across the board business tax cut for every Michigan company. The chair of the House taxation committee says he is not advocating the increase but he confirms that it is one of several options now under consideration.

Conservative republicans are not happy with the thought of raising anybody’s taxes including attorneys. Rep. Leon Drolett of Macomb County says no taxes should be raised and more state budget cuts should be made to increase money for a business tax cut.
