Volunteers Needed to Fight Emerald Ash Borer

The US Government is trying a new approach to battle the emerald ash borer, and it needs volunteers' help.

The plan is to collect ash seeds.

The seeds will be cleaned and preserved. If the ash trees are wiped out, the seeds can then be planted up to 50 years from now.

Identify ash trees in your area during the spring and summer. In the fall, collect the seeds. Store them in a cloth or paper bag and mail them within 24 hours to:
