The next time you go to Sparrow Hospital for diagnosis or treatment, you may be tapping into the expertise of the famed Mayo Clinic.
Sparrow announced today that it is one of the first five hospitals in the nation to be selected as a member of the prestigious Mayo Clinic Care Network.
"Access to Mayo Clinic expertise and clinical care resources will mean that our patients will receive some of the most advanced care in the nation, right here at Sparrow", said John Armstrong, Sparrow's Chief of Medical Staff.
The formal agreement will mean that Sparrow doctors can call on doctors and resources of the Mayor Clinic for help.
The agreement doesn't include ownership for either health care system, rather it is a collaborative relationship.
In addition to Sparrow, other members of the Mayo Clinic Care Network are in Arizona, Minnesota, Missouri and North Dakota.
