You may not think of the night before prom as the perfect time to simulate a deadly car crash, but some police and fire departments do because too often they've had to deal with drinking and driving related car accidents on prom night.
On the front lawn of Eaton Rapids High School Friday, some three thousand students watched as rescue crews ripped apart three cars. It was a mock accident to educate students about the dangers of drinking and driving.
The "victims" were part of the Eaton Rapids Students Against Drunk Driving organization. Rescue workers from all over Eaton Rapids and Eaton County volunteered their time and equipment for the event.
