Analysts say GM is the only company among the big three automakers that will likely be able to offer profit sharing for its employees.
Both Ford and Daimler-Chrysler are struggling to break even for the year.
The profit-sharing checks usually are distributed in March. The GM bonuses are estimated at $800 to $1,200.
