LANSING - Lansing police are releasing the name of the boy who drowned in a pond in South Lansing Tuesday. 2-year-old Tirso Perez was pronounced dead at the hospital, after being pulled from a pond shortly after 11 o'clock Tuesday. The incident happened outside the boy's home in the 6200 block of Grovenburg Road near Miller Road and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Police are still investigating how the boy got into the pond. Police say the child's parents were home at the time, and had called police reporting the child missing. Lansing Fire Department paramedics were first on the scene and soon discovered the child in the pond.
