Hundreds of Tech Jobs Coming To Jackson

Consumers Energy is partnering with an IT company to bring hundreds of professional technology jobs to Jackson.

The utility is collaborating with HCL Technologies, a offshore IT and software development company, to create a center of excellence.

That center will be known as The Michigan Technology Development Center and will be located at the Commonwealth Commerce Center in downtown Jackson.

The plan is to hire local technology professionals and create 300 professional jobs during phase one. The center will serve as a training and development hub for advanced and emerging IT processes. It will offer tools and will partner will with local universities and colleges to train more people.

The center will be expanded in the next few years to bring hundreds of more jobs.
