Lansing Mayor David Hollister says more economic development is the key to successful revitalization of the city.
Hollister says one key to revitalization is finding niche stores for the downtown area like new children's clothing store Purple Mango. He says he envisions Lansing as a world-class city like Chicago and New York.
Hollister's blue ribbon committee is focusing on adding more lofts and apartments to the city. The project has started two years ago and is currently housing Cooley law students.
The mayor also says the building known as the Bogie Building, otherwise known as the clock tower, is the city's next big project.
Hollister says his dream is to see the streets filled with people downtown, enjoying the nightlife, and taking in the numerous restaurants in the area.
