Jackson Police found 33 marijuana plants in a home during an investigation yesterday.

Police were investigating reports of shots fired on the 1000 block of First Street. No evidence of gunshots was found.

While at a home, they located 33 marijuana plants.

The owner had a medical marijuana card, but by law, a person is only allowed 12 plants.

Those were confiscated and will be destroyed.

Police also found two handguns and a shotgun. It's not yet clear if the man has a license for those weapons.

No one has been arrested, and the case is still being investigated.

Hey one needs a "license" to own either a handgun or shotgun. The only special requirement is a CPL if one carries a handgun concealed. This added component made the firearms to appear in a sinister way which didn't sit well with this citizen.

    And? What a lame story.

By law you are allowed to have up to 12 plants per person you are a caretaker for. News 10 obviously needs a new investigative reporter or editor for their stories. If he was only a caretaker for himself they should include this (keeps them from sounding ignorant). Plus, why were police in a house looking for gunshots that were reported outside? Sounds kind of fishy to me...

You know you can't find gun shots, thats sounds. The police probably didn't think of this, they wanted to get into the house so bad to look, they didn't think of how this sounded.

The police force in jackson is so overwhelmed because of the budget cuts that all they can do at times is walk up to the doors and ask for witness. Most of the time someone is doing something illegal in the home.
