Get ready for the orange road barrels in Okemos. Beginning mid-June, Okemos Road, from Jolly to just north of Mt. Hope, will be down to two lanes for a construction project.
A center left-turn lane is being added. Pavement work, as well as improvements to the railroad crossing and storm sewer facilities, will also be completed on the roughly two-mile stretch.
Ingham County road commissioners say the $3 million project will make the road safer and help ease traffic congestion.
Construction is expected to be completed by September.
