It began just before noon Tuesday as students were coming back from lunch. A fight involving up to one hundred people broke out and about thirty minutes later, another one.
The first fight happened on Allegan Street, across the street from Lansing's Sexton High School. The second fight happened on the school's front lawn. One student was wrestled to the ground while another was held off by Lansing Police officers. The student being held off kicked at authorities and in the end six students were arrested, two for trespassing and four for disorderly conduct. Five of the students were Sexton High School students; one was a Gardner Middle School student.
A spokesperson for the Lansing Police Department says there are notebook pages full of suspensions waiting for the students involved and Ingham County's Prosecutor will be asked to use zero tolerance when considering criminal charges. No one was injured in either fight.
