The Michigan State University Board of Trustees is considering banning open-alcohol on-campus. The ban does not apply to designated areas for tailgating and special events. It also excludes dorms.

According to Terry Denbow, MSU Vice President for University relations, "It would just bring us up to conformity with other ordinances and laws within our regions."

Most students said the proposal doesn't bother them.

MSU is the only Big Ten University that currently allows open-alcohol on campus.

The board is expected to vote on the proposal February 11.
