The line was long Tuesday morning outside of Expressions Custom Furniture in Okemos as the state's Treasury Department held a public auction. A spokesperson for the Treasury Department says it's a remedy for non-payment of taxes.
The Okemos business abruptly shut its doors last month, leaving customers with orders and pricey down payments out in the cold. Those customers were given first dibs and then bidding was opened up to the public.
No word on how long the owner went without paying taxes or what will happen to items left over from the auction.
