Mid-Michigan Aids in Tsunami Relief

Lansing's American Red Cross Chapter has collected donations totaling more than $8,000 in the last couple of days. On Wednesday alone, 25 people brought in checks before the noon hour.

If you would like to make a cash donation, you can mail in or bring it in to the Lansing chapter at 1800 E. Grand River Ave., Lansing, MI 48912 Donations will be used for food, clean water, and medical supplies.

Meantime, Lansing Bharatiya Temple says all of its members’ relatives seem to be accounted for, although that could change once the death toll is finalized. A prayer service is being held at the temple in Haslett coinciding with its annual World Peace Prayer Day on Saturday, January 1. The service starts at 8 a.m.
