News Ten first brought you the story about Expressions Custom Furniture in Okemos abruptly shutting its doors when a customer contacted us regarding an order she had not received. More customers called in, and now the owner is offering an explanation.

The owner tells News Ten the closure was unexpected. She declined an on camera interview but wants customers to know a letter, explaining what will happen with furniture orders and down payments, is being drafted.

The Michigan Department of Treasury has posted signs on the door of the business announcing a public auction in January but can not offer any further explanation.

The public auction will be on Tuesday, January 5, 2005 at 10 a.m. It will be held at the store in the Central Park Place Plaza at 5100 Marsh Rd. in Okemos.
