Authorities in Jackson County have seized hundreds of containers explosive materials in Parma Township. Police say the investigation is still ongoing.

The ongoing investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff's Department and other agencies has led to the capture of bomb making materials and firearms.

Police found explosive ingredients buried in the backyard of a 100-acre lot residence off of Peckham Rd. in Parma Township. The materials included liquid nitro methane, ammonium nitrate, blasting caps, two unregistered handguns and a taser.

Authorities don't have a motive or know who is involved, but acknowledge there has been militia activity in Jackson County in the past. No arrests have been made.

The Michigan State Police bomb squad is handling the explosive materials and will dispose of it immediately.
