A man shot outside a Ponderosa restaurant near Richmond, Virginia may be the 12th victim of the random sniper attacks in the vicinity of the nation's capitol.
At around 8 p.m. Saturday, a 37-year-old man walking across the parking lot of a Ponderosa restaurant in Ashland, Virginia was shot once.
At last check, he is still alive in the hospital. However, there is no confirmation of the victim's condition.
And investigators are not sure this is related to the 11 earlier sniper attacks in suburban Washington D.C.
There's also word that investigators are treating it as if it is the same killer or killers.
The restaurant is located near an interstate exit... about one-tenth of a mile from I-95.
Police are flooding that area with squad cars, trying to seal off escape routes.
Parts of the interstate has also been shut down and traffic is backed up for miles.
Since October second, 11 people have been shot by a sniper in Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C.
Nine of those victims have died.
Saturday's shooting could add up to 12.
It would also be the first attack in five days and the first time someone has been shot on a weekend night.
