Students of all ages are doing their part to help other students who lost their school in the devastating South Asian tsunami.
Hartwood School in Mason was one of many schools that participated in "Kids-Helping-Kids," a Valentine's Day fundraiser organized by the Lansing Rotary Club.
Students and staff from Hartwood, a school for students with special needs, raised almost $300. The school's principal, Marcia O'Brien, said she's proud of her students for coming together.
"They seem to relate to the needs of others, and so when they think about a school being wiped out, they think about how it could be their school wiped out," O'Brien said.
It's not too late to make a donation through the program. To find out more information, log onto www.kidzhelpingkidz.com.
