Former BWL GM Wants Contract Honored

Former general manager of Lansing Board of Water and Light Joe Pandy wants his five-year contract honored by the board of commissioners.

Pandy was fired two weeks ago from his position of 18 years. Pandy says he wasn't told the reason for his termination. But board chair Ronald Callen for BWL says Pandy was not an adequate leader and employee morale was low.

Lansing city council members met with Callen to discuss the circumstances surrounding the firing. Callen says Pandy's contract was approved by a different board in 1992 and no longer applies. This makes Pandy at-will employee.

Pandy is looking for the $1.3 million left on his contract.
