State health officials say 300,000 more flu vaccine doses are on their way to Michigan. State, and local health officials will be working together to distribute the vaccine to areas where it is most needed.
If you are considered high-risk and you have not gotten a flu shot yet, health officials say you should call your doctor or the local health department. Let them know you are eligible for a shot.
Officials are also reminding caretakers of infants under six months of age that they are in that high-risk category.
The federal government announced they have entered a contract with vaccine-maker Aventis. This will allow year-round vaccine production.
