LANSING - A murder charge has been dropped against one of three men who had been accused in the murder of a 7-year-old Lansing girl last summer.
Deontai Jordan, 31, was set free Friday morning, a week after he was arrested and charged with the killing of Amaia Edmond. A statement from the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office says, following Jordan's arrest, he provided investigators with information that was helpful in furthering the investigation. Two other men, Jerry McKinney and D'Angelo Jordan, Deontai's brother, were arrested and charged with the Edmund girl's murder on Wednesday.
Amaia Edmund was shot and killed on July 22, 2010, as a result of a home invasion at a residence at 115 Custer Avenue in north Lansing.
