Two-hundred Michigan National Guard members returned home Monday afternoon after nearly a year deployment in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Sixty-five of the soldiers are from the Lansing area.
It was an emotional reunion with family members as the soldiers said they're very excited to back home and see their loved ones again.
Five-hundred more soldiers are expected to be deployed in November and December. The soldiers who returned Monday likely won't be deployed again anytime soon.
