Toyota's heavy-truck subsidiary Hino Motors is moving its American headquarters from New York to southeast Michigan.

Governor Granholm made the announcement Thursday in front of the state Capitol.

The state's economic development department says the move to Bloomfield Hills will create 30 new jobs initially. The president of the company says the move will bring the company closer to its customers and suppliers.

Toyota owns a majority of Hino, making it one of the automaker's core group of companies.

The state didn't have to provide any tax credits to attract Hino Motors Sales to Michigan.
