Jamal Sanders, 17, is awaiting trial for allegedly sexually assaulting a female Eastern High School classmate. He was sentenced on a separate assault charge Thursday and that wasn't even his first brush with the law.
Sanders was charged and sentenced in Eaton County, three years ago, for first-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a six year old boy. Sanders spent close to two years at a facility in Adrian for rehabilitation. Sometime after his release, he was charged with assaulting a female student from Holt.
Ingham County Judge Ann Baird sent Sanders to the Ingham County Jail Thursday for the Holt assault charge. He will return to Circuit Court at a later date for his pretrial hearing regarding charges of allegedly sexually assaulting a female student at Eastern High School.
