Friday's adult flu-shot clinic was held at the Inghamc County Health Department. Some senior citizens waited for more than two hours in the rain.
But with staff bringing hot coffee and public health workers keeping the lines moving, people made the best of the situation.
Dr. Dean Sienko of the Ingham County Health Department says the order from state health officials to enforce a penalty on healthcare workers who give the flu shot to non-high-risk people is helping to reassure the vaccine goes to those most vulnerable.
The next flu shot clinic at Ingham County Health Department is for children and pregnant women. It will be Monday, October 18. The shot will be given from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
If you did not get a flu shot and are considered to be at high risk, The Visiting Nurse Services of Michigan will be holding three more clinics this week. For more information on those clinics, call 517-367-5945 or visit www.vnsofmichigan.org.
