MSU Tailgate Yields Few Arrests, Low Turnout

As of 5:30 p.m. Saturday, only 14 tailgaters were behind bars. That number is down from 43 at the Notre Dame game. Better yet, no one left in an ambulance.

But tailgaters and police say that success is due, in part, to low attendance. Many students did not turn out. Many others were sent home with "minor in possession" citations. Of those that did tailgate, most were angry. They more shirts that said "Beer Pong is Not a Crime" and carried signs that asked "When did State Turn Into Russia?"
