A spokeswoman says MotorCity Casino is pushing back the November 1st opening of its new luxury hotel because of delays in delivering furnishings and fixtures.
Jennifer Kulczycki says the grand opening still will be held sometime next month.
She says last week's temporary closing of the Detroit casino, prompted by a potential strike by staffers, played no part in the delays or the decision to move back the hotel opening.
Unions and the casinos reached a deal last week. The United Auto Workers has said 73 percent of MotorCity's 2,000-plus employees have voted in favor of the new, four-year contract.
