Starting this week, deer will be on the move for mating season. The Michigan Deer Crash Coalition is working to get the message out for drivers to be safe. The group says the best way to be safe if you're in the situation is to hit the deer head on, instead of swerving out of your lane and into oncoming traffic, or into a ditch.
More than 67,000 deer-car accidents took place in 2003, and of those nearly 1,900 were injured, and eleven were fatal.
