Hillsdale city officials have decided to act as a source for people who want to offer condolences to the family of former area resident executed by Islamic militants.
Hillsdale city manager Tim Vagle says that the community wants to preserve the privacy of Eugene “Jack” Armstrong's family and to convey the concern of other people.
Vagle says many of the people who have contacted his office want to make a memorial donation to the family. So, the city contacted the Hillsdale County Community Foundation and asked for help.
Information about what people can do is available on the county's Web site.
Jack Armstrong was taken hostage last week. The 52-year-old was shown being executed on a video posted on a Web site Monday.
Condolences can be Emailed to the Armstrong family at: email@example.com
