Eugene Armstrong is one of two American contractors kidnapped two days ago from their office in Baghdad. A British man has also been taken hostage with the men.
It's been reported the kidnappers belong to a group led by Jordanian militant Abu Musab al-Zaqarwi. They are demanding that Iraqi women being held in American-controlled prisons be freed. If they are not set free within 48 hours, the kidnappers say they will behead the hostages, including Armstrong.
Frank Armstrong, Eugene's brother, is awaiting news at his home in Osseo, Michigan. He and other relatives in the area declined to comment.
Neighbors and residents in the area say they were shocked by the news. They say it is a small town and everyone will support the Armstrong family.
