Everyone keeps whining that the state will have to cut services & social programs. So what. That's exactly what is needed. I know this sounds cold but many programs have been born & grown during good financial times when nobody was looking. The larger any government or business becomes the more waste is prevalent within. Time for people to take responsibility for themselves and stop expecting the state to provide for them.

One word: Privatization. The state government doesn't need to control education. It's too much of a burden on the state. Let a private company run it.

without taxing how can a state run.no one is seeing what cuts will do to social programs, health care programs or our schools, along with many services the state funds.it would cause many more homeless people on the streets and some will turn to crime.many more sick people which will spread disease.schools will have to combine, leaving many empty. then extreamly crowed class rooms, and many teachers let go.jobs-well months ago it was prodected how many would leave the states in 2008,it's not just the budget.vote someone out-the next ones will be just as bad.if we believe there promises, shame on us.it isn't a QUICK FIX problem.in next years election, from president on down will say what will happen to the US.getting out of the wars could change alot, good or bad.fair taxes, never will happen again.eventually the US will fall.then other countries depending on us will fall.it's only a matter of time.vote-recall-complain-or later on effect.take your choice.we can't change the government.

According to www.michigan.gov/treasury the income tax increase went into effect Monday, October 1st, not tomorrow (10/8). Somebody needs to check the facts before re-reporting an old AP story.

Who cares what the analysts say? Tax the analyst, Governor! A Tax is a Tax. A Fee is a Tax. And now we all have less money to spend on items with Taxes and Fees. People, stop for a minute and add up all your new and higher taxes and fees under this Governor. Now, how many pizzas could you buy? How much shopping at local businesses in Michigan could you do? How many child care items, services, and so on could you buy with the $260.00 you won't have anymore? When you break it down to pizzas, that is a lot of pizzas. She is putting Michigan out of business. Look at all the For Sale signs. We need a lot less government spending, less Taxes and less Fees. We have less people to govern. I found my old DeVos sticker and put it back on my truck. I want people to know I didn't vote for any of this mess.

I know who I am not voting for the next few years. I am ready to make the taxes something that can only be changed by a ballot vote.

How can they start collecting the tax before Queen Jenny has signed the bill?
