Police say what appears to be two legs and an arm have been found in a vacant field on Detroit's east side.
Police spokeswoman Sgt. Eren Stephens says officers located the parts after receiving a 911 call about 9 a.m. Monday.
Police were processing possible evidence Monday afternoon.
Stephens says police are awaiting final confirmation from the Wayne County medical examiner's office on whether the parts were from a human body.
The field where the parts were found is a few miles outside downtown.
