LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- How's this for Thanksgiving leftovers in the making? State wildlife officials say more than 30,000 leftover fall turkey hunting licenses are available and are going on sale.
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Environment said the licenses go on sale online and at all license vendors at 10 a.m. Aug. 30. The bulk of them are in southern Michigan.
Most available licenses are for private land, but there are some general licenses. A hunter may buy one daily until the quota is reached.
Fall turkey season opens Sept. 15 and runs through Nov. 14.
