KCTV5 Rosie the pit bull is deaf. She spent several months at a Central Nebraska animal shelter, hoping to find a new owner.
When Rosie first arrived at the animal shelter, workers could not figure out why the dog wouldn't respond, until one volunteer realized Rosie couldn't hear. It was then that they began to teach Rosie sign language.
The question of where Rosie would find a new home was also answered recently when Cindy Koch adopted the dog. Cindy also happens to be deaf and wanted a deaf dog. When asked why, Cindy responded, "I'm deaf and we want to relate to her and understand how she feels.'
