A couple went for a quiet drive Saturday in Alberta, Canada when the peaceful drive was loudly interrupted.
The couple's car was hit by lightning.
Al Perry, who was with his wife Betty, said it sounded like a "sonic boom."
Surveillance cameras happened to record the freak event.
The fireball struck and it appeared to engulf the couple's pickup.
Inside the truck, the airbags deployed and the metal body was rippled by the heat, and smoke began to fill the cabin.
"So I turned my body and put my two feet up and tried to kick the window out, i don't know how many times I tried and tried and tried."
Fortunately for the couple a police officer was nearby who helped them get out of the truck safely.
